Curious locals have been waiting months for the chance to explore the new Alpenglow park in southeast Bend. A “soft opening” of the new park began this week with about 90% of areas open to the public. Features include; a kid’s splash park, dog agility courses, and paved walking trails. The outdoor rock climbing feature has already become a popular sunset view spot.
The restrooms and seating areas are open, while the kids playground, native garden, and pedestrian bridge are still under construction with plans to open in the next month. Alpenglow park’s grand opening is scheduled for July 15th when city and local government officials will host a small event.
