Site development work began on a new planned community in southeast Bend. Located at the Corner of SE 15th Street & SE Wilson Ave, Wildflower Hills will add nearly 600 units of housing to the Larkspur Neighborhood.
The lot is approximately 32 acres and includes two significant geographic areas with steep slopes that housing (and roads) will be built around. A new roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of 15th and Wilson, while SE Wilson will be extended into the Wildflower development (img below). A small area in the northwest corner of the property is being considered for mixed used employment and services for the neighborhood.
The building construction is planned in two phases with developers indicating that some of the housing could be available by the end of 2023. Evergreen Housing is leading the project, a Seattle based development group involved with three other projects in Bend. For some ideas of their work visit the Outlook at Pilot Butte, The Commons at Pilot Butte, or The Eddy apartments overlooking the surf wave on the Deschutes river.
The Wildflower Hills plan includes a mixture of housing units.
76 Single family cottages (bungalows)
480 Stacked flats (3 story apartments with ground level access)
30 Attached multi-story units (townhome style duplexes)
Broken down by unit type:
1-bed 51.2%
2-bed 37.5%
3-bed 11.3%
